Protecting your privacy is important to us. Our Terms of Service will help you better understand what, why and how we collect and store your information. We will keep your information confidential.
1. Who are we?
Events Venue owns the website www.eventsvenue.co.za, related reservation software and the Events Venue application.
These Terms of Service controls your use of Events Venue and its features. By using Events Venue, the Events Venue reservation software, the Events Venue website or the Events Venue application you acknowledge and accept these terms of service.
Our Privacy Policy is also part of our Terms of Service.
2. What is Events Venue?
Events Venue is a reservation management software for restaurants and a consumer facing restaurant reservation application, restaurant reservation and restaurant listings website. There are many other features and functionalities.
Events Venue, the website and the Events Venue Application has these features:
- Browser based restaurant reservation management software.
- Live restaurant reservation widget which goes on the restaurants’ website, Google business listing, social media channels and other locations.
- Restaurant listings and directory in the Events Venue Application and Events Venue website.
- Real-time (Instant) restaurant bookings in the Events Venue Application, the Events Venue website and our restaurants’ websites.
- Request restaurant bookings in the Events Venue Application, the Events Venue website and our restaurants’ websites.
- Restaurant ratings and reviews are included in the Events Venue Application and Events Venue Website.
Some features will only be available to you if you give us permission. Such as our location-based feature, where the Events Venue Application and Events Venue website suggests restaurants in your area.
If you want to make a reservation or favourite a restaurant in the Events Venue application and Events Venue website, you will be required to create a user profile.
3. What do we expect from you, when using Events Venue or the Events Venue Application.
You are expected to not do anything malicious, that breaks any laws or is dishonest in any way.
From time to time, we will change and (hopefully) improve the Events Venue application and Events Venue website features and functions.
The following is required of you:
- Do not let anyone else use your profile and login credentials.
- You are prohibited from using any type of software such as: a spider, crawler, scraper, script, browser, extension, offline reader or other automated means or interface not authorised by us to access Events Venue or the Events Venue Application and Events Venue website or its features, extract data or otherwise interfere with or modify the rendering of pages or functionality.
- You are prohibited to transmit or post any file that may contain worms, Trojan horses, viruses or any other form of contamination or destructive elements which interfere with Events Venue or the Events Venue Application.
- You are prohibited to reverse engineer any aspect of our services, or do anything that might discover source code or bypass or circumvent measures employed to prevent or limit access to any content, area or code of Events Venue, the Events Venue Application or its features.
- You will be expected to comply with all applicable laws when using Events Venue or the Events Venue Application.
4. What do we expect from you when using the Events Venue reservation functionality?
You may use our reservation functionality to make a reservation at a restaurant using Events Venue, the Events Venue application or the Events Venue website. To reiterate, once the reservation has been made responsibility of this reservation is then handed over to you and the restaurant. Your reservation will be subject to the restaurant’s terms and conditions.
You are expected to notify the restaurant if you have any special requirements when making a reservation. These special requirements can be things such as; dietary requirements, allergies, disabled access.
Events Venue is not responsible for anything that might go wrong with your booking, any penalties you must pay for cancellations or if you are not happy with the service delivered by the restaurant.
Each restaurant will have their own cancellation policy and where applicable, will determine when a refund is due to you.
5. Who owns the Events Venue, the Events Venue application and Events Venue website?
Events Venue owns the Events Venue restaurant reservation software, the Events Venue application and Events Venue website and its content. We grant you permission to use Events Venue and its great features.
Events Venue and all content and other materials it contains, including the text, graphics, pictures, information, data, software, sound files, other files and the images and information used on Events Venue, the Events Venue website and the Events Venue application listings, are provided by the restaurants. While we have permission to use this information on the Events Venue website and Events Venue application, we do not own the images most importantly, so we are not able to grant any permission for them to be downloaded and used in any way.
Our Terms of Service to you does not include any right to:
- Sell, resell or use the services or content commercially.
- Distribute, publicly perform or publicly display any content without our written consent.
- Modify or otherwise make any derivative uses of the services or content, or any portion thereof.
- Use any data mining, robots or similar data gathering or extraction methods.
- Download (other than page caching) any portion of the services or content, except as expressly permitted by us.
- Use the services or content other than for their intended purposes.
We can revoke your access and use of Events Venue, the Events Venue website and or the Events Venue application at any time.
The Events Venue Terms of Service and content may include software features provided by third parties that are subject to separate license terms and conditions, in which case those license terms and conditions will govern those software features.
6. How do we treat your data?
The restaurant at which you make a reservation will have access to the information that you provide it. We will keep your personal information confidential. Please read our updated privacy policy to see how we collect and use personal information.
It must be recorded that by creating a profile and making use of Events Venue’s services you accept the terms and conditions contained herein and acknowledge that you have read our privacy policy.
Events Venue is compliant with the relevant provisions of the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 and EU General Protection of Data Regulations and by using the services of Events Venue you consent to the collection and processing of personal information as provided by you.
Events Venue collects and stores personal information on behalf of restaurants and the information will only be processed for its intended purpose.
In making use of Events Venue’s services you will be given a choice to receive marketing on behalf of restaurants and on behalf of Events Venue. In the event that you have chosen to accept such marketing you will be given the opportunity to opt out should you wish to do so at a later stage.
Kindly take note of the procedures in place for any request of personal information; request to rectify or delete information and the complaint process.
7. What notifications will you receive?
We will send out notifications relating to your booking, review requests and potentially special offers if you have opted to receive such.
We may send notifications via SMS and or Email and or Push notification to:
- Confirm a booking
- Remind you of a booking
- Prompt you to review a restaurant
- Notify you of special offers in your area
- Notify you of changes to these terms
- Direct you to process a deposit payment request from our restaurants
8. Can you give feedback?
Yes, please tell us what you think of our reservation software, website, application and its features. We may use it to make improvements or publish it.
We welcome your feedback about Events Venue, the Events Venue website and the Events Venue application. Feedback includes questions, comments, suggestions or ideas.
We will own any feedback and may use and modify it without any restrictions or payment to you. For instance, if you send us an e-mail to tell us how much you enjoy using the Events Venue application, we can use a shortened version of it on our website. We will not publish your personal information with the feedback without your consent.

9. What about third party sites?
We may link to third party sites that are not ours or under our control.
We may link to third party websites. We make no claim or representation regarding, and accept no responsibility for the quality, content, nature or reliability of third party websites or content that we reference. Third party sites and content are not under our control.
10. Where does our responsibility end (disclaimers, limitation of liability, and indemnity)?
We do not guarantee that the Events Venue reservations software, the Events Venue website or the Events Venue application will always be available or that the content will be accurate. We are not involved in or responsible for the services provided by the restaurants listed on, the Events Venue website or Events Venue application.
You expressly acknowledge that the use of the Events Venue website, the Events Venue application and its features is at your sole risk.
We are not liable for any loss or harm which flows from your use of, or inability to use our service. Specifically, we cannot be held liable for any loss or inconvenience due to the Events Venue reservation software, the Events Venue website or the Events Venue application downtime.
We are in no way involved in or responsible for the services provided by restaurants listed on the Events Venue website or the Events Venue application and cannot be held liable for their actions or failure to act, the food or drink that they serve or any related activity. If you have allergies or any other special requirements, you must communicate this directly to the restaurant.
We do not actively monitor or moderate diners’ reviews of restaurants and cannot be held responsible for it. If you notice that a diner submitted malicious, abusive or threatening content, or an inauthentic or knowingly erroneous review, please notify us immediately at support@eventsvenue.co.za
We are not liable for any loss or harm which flows from the unauthorised use of your profile. You are responsible to keep your credentials safe and to prevent unauthorised use of your devices and profile.
You will be held responsible for any claims, demands, causes of action, damages, legal and other costs, expenses, penalties, losses or liabilities resulting from third-party claims about an action, commission or omission by you that constitutes a breach or contravention of these Terms of Service or any applicable legislation. In other words, you indemnify us against third-party claims due to your breach of these Terms of Service or applicable legislation.
Although we will try to prevent it from happening, we are not responsible for any malicious code (such as a virus) which may come from the Events Venue reservation software, the Events Venue website or the Events Venue application.
While Events Venue will take all reasonable measures to ensure an efficient, uninterrupted and error-free service to all its online customers, neither Events Venue nor any of its employees, representatives or assigns will be liable to any online customer for any loss or damage of whatsoever nature caused by or attributable to any:
- fact or circumstance beyond the reasonable control of Events Venue, including the breakdown or interruption in the services provided by external service providers and the unavailability or defective performance of any software or any of the services available on or from this web-site;
- breach of privacy, security or confidentiality or any infringement of intellectual property rights by any person or entity;
- loss, damage, destruction, theft, contamination or corruption of any data, information or content accessible from or available on this web-site;
- reliance on, publication or use of any information or data contained on or accessible from this web-site including information and data contained in advertising banners, third party software, pop-up windows, buttons, intermercials, hypertext links and advertising sponsorships;
- failure by a visitor or online customers to maintain the confidentiality of their personal username and password, or the disclosure of personal usernames and/or passwords to any person or entity;
- hacking, infection by viruses, Trojan horses, or any other computer programming routines or software that are intended to damage, detrimentally interfere with, surreptitiously intercept or expropriate any software programme, system, data or personal information;
- failure to adhere to the provisions of any terms and conditions governing the use and access to the services and facilities offered from time to time on this web-site;
- any lawful act or omission by Events Venue, its representatives and service providers in respect of or relating to the maintenance and support of this web-site and any supporting software or otherwise in the interests of protecting Events Venue’s proprietary rights or the privacy and confidentiality of visitors and online customers and their personal information;
- and consequential or indirect loss or damage whether foreseeable or otherwise.
11. Can we restrict your access to the Events Venue Application?
Yes! This will only be done if we need to for maintenance or security reasons, or if we determine that your profile is used in contravention of our Terms of Service.
We reserve the right to restrict access to or suspend access to the Events Venue reservation software, the Events Venue website and the Events Venue application for any technical, maintenance or security reasons without compensation. We will do our best to limit this type of interruption to a minimum.
We may also restrict or suspend access if we determine at our discretion that:
- your profile is being used by an unauthorised person
- you are in breach of our Terms of Service or any applicable law
- you use the Events Venue website or the Events Venue application in any manner to harass, abuse, stalk, threaten, defame or otherwise infringe or violate the rights of any other person
12. When does our relationship come to an end?
You can deactivate your profile or request that we remove and or delete any of your personal information at any time by contacting us. We can do it if you breach our terms of Service or if we withdraw the Events Venue website or Events Venue application.

We can deactivate your profile by giving you notice at any time if:
- You breach our terms of service or any applicable law.
- We have reason to believe that your use of the Events Venue website, the Events Venue application or the use of your profile is fraudulent in any way.
- You use the Events Venue application in any manner to harass, abuse, stalk, threaten, defame or otherwise infringe or violate the rights of any other person at our discretion. You may not use the Events Venue website or the Events Venue application in any manner to harass, abuse, stalk, threaten, defame or otherwise infringe or violate the rights of any other person.
- Events Venue, at our discretion can decide to withdraw the Events Venue website and or the Events Venue application from public use.
- If we no longer do business for whatever reason.
We will have no liability for any damages or losses you may suffer due to the termination.
When our Terms of Service are terminated, whether due to you deactivating your profile or because we terminated it:
- You will no longer have the right to access or use the Events Venue website, the Events Venue application or any of its features.
- Any licenses and rights granted under our Terms of service will conclude immediately.
- The rest of our Terms of Service will continue to apply.
13. What is the Platform Fee?
The Platform Fee is a non-refundable service charge applied to reservations requiring a prepayment through the Events Venue booking system. The Platform Fee is charged per booking transaction and is inclusive of Value Added Tax (VAT).
The Platform Fee is non-refundable in all circumstances, including, but not limited to: cancellation of the booking, modification of the booking details, no-show for the reservation and refund of the payment. In the event of a refund, the Platform Fee portion will be retained by Events Venue.
The Platform Fee is added to the total payment amount at checkout. Your booking is not confirmed until Events Venue receives payment in full, including the Platform Fee.
Events Venue reserves the right to modify the Platform Fee structure. Any changes to the Platform Fee will not affect bookings made prior to the change.
14. What else should you know
We are governed by South African Law. If we need to make any changes to our Terms of service due to these governing laws, we will let you know.
The above is our entire Terms of Service regarding Events Venue, the Events Venue Application and www.eventsvenue.co.za.
We may amend or update our Terms of Service from time to time. We will provide a notice via an in-app notification or pop-up on the website if we do so. The Terms of Service are currently in force. Should you continue to use Events Venue, the Events Venue application or www.eventsvenue.co.za after our Terms of Service have changed, it means that you accept these changes. We encourage you to check our Terms of Service frequently to stay up to dates.
15. Voucherplan user terms & conditions
Voucherplan is owned and managed by Events Venue (Pty) Ltd. For the purposes of these Terms and Conditions, Voucherplan and Events Venue refer to the same legal entity. These Terms and Conditions should be read in conjunction with Events Venue’s End User Terms and Conditions, found here.
Voucherplan provides a gift voucher platform for Restaurants and Diners to use and transact on and by making use of such platform you have accepted these terms of service and the end user terms of conditions referred to above.
There are two types of Events Venue vouchers. A Universal Restaurant Voucher which can be redeemed at any Events Venue restaurant which has opted in to receive Events Venue vouchers, and restaurant-specific vouchers which can only be redeemed at the restaurant which the voucher has been purchased for.
To see a list of all Events Venue restaurants who have opted-in to accept Events Venue universal vouchers, click here. We will try to keep this list up to date at all times, but we cannot guarantee the accuracy of this list.
All bookings are subject to normal availability. Having a voucher does not provide the user with any preferential booking availability. At the time of making your booking, please advise the restaurant if you plan to use a Events Venue voucher.
Restaurants can choose to opt-out of accepting Events Venue universal vouchers with a 30-day notice period. If your booking is more than 30 days in the future, and you have booked at a restaurant who subsequently chooses to opt out of accepting Events Venue universal vouchers, then it is possible that you may not be able to redeem your voucher at the time you eat at the restaurant. We will do our best to warn anyone who has booked in the future and has indicated that they will be using a voucher should this circumstance arise.

You may not redeem less than R15 when using a Events Venue voucher. Any balance less than R15 remaining on your Events Venue voucher will be forfeited.
Vouchers are valid for 36 months from the time of purchase.
Vouchers can only be redeemed while they are valid, and their expiry dates cannot be extended.
You are responsible for keeping your voucher details and secret code safe and secure.
Vouchers cannot be redeemed or exchanged for cash, and do not accrue interest.
Vouchers are not refundable.
Vouchers cannot be transferred or used to purchase another voucher, or any other product or service offered by Events Venue or Voucherplan.
Vouchers cannot be replaced if lost, stolen or misused.
Events Venue reserves the right to cancel a voucher if we deem such action necessary. If so, we may provide a replacement voucher of equivalent value unless we suspect fraud has taken place.
You are able to gift a voucher to someone else. It is your responsibility to make sure that you use the correct details of the person you would like to buy the voucher for. Once purchased, vouchers cannot be transferred to a different person.
Please note that due to the complexity of email security features by the various email service providers as well as email security features implemented by individuals, we cannot guarantee the email delivery of gift vouchers to the recipient. After purchase, please confirm with the recipient if they have received the gift voucher. If they have not, please contact Events Venue or Voucherplan for assistance.
Events Venue cannot be held responsible for any harm due to loss, unauthorised use, theft or unauthorised distribution of a voucher, after Events Venue has delivered the voucher to you, or the email address nominated by you. It is your responsibility to keep your voucher details safe. Should you believe that your voucher has been fraudulently redeemed, please contact Events Venue or Voucher plan immediately.
Events Venue is not liable for any loss or harm which flows from your use of, or inability to use our service. Specifically, we cannot be held liable for any loss or inconvenience due to the Events Venue or Voucherplan software or website downtime.
Events Venue is in no way involved in or responsible for the services provided by the restaurants listed on the Events Venue website and cannot be held liable for their actions or failure to act or any related activity.
You indemnify us against third-party claims due to your breach of these Terms or applicable legislation.
Events Venue is not responsible for the supply or provision of the Restaurant Offering.
These terms and conditions may be updated from time to time.
How to check your voucher balance
If your voucher has been purchased with the same guest details (specifically the mobile number) as your Events Venue app user profile, then your voucher will be displayed in your Events Venue app, including its remaining value if it has been partially redeemed.
If you do not have the Events Venue app, you can scan the voucher QR code with a mobile device and it will display the voucher value and the balance remaining on your voucher.
How to redeem your voucher
When arriving for your restaurant reservation, inform your waiter that you plan on redeeming a Events Venue voucher when paying the bill. At the end of your meal, you will need to present your Voucher reference and Secret code or QR code, either printed or on your phone, to the restaurant. The restaurant will then capture the voucher details, and the amount that you are choosing to redeem, in their Events Venue or Voucherplan account. The redeemed amount will be removed from your bill.

Protection of Personal Information
All personal information supplied by you, whether it be your own personal information or that of someone else in the form of a gift, shall remain confidential and shall only be used for the purpose it was intended. Events Venue’s privacy policy is contained on the website.
